Usability Hub

This is a site that I am currently using. You leave it running on a tab and it will beep at you when a test is available the points vary depending on the task but they only last between 2-5 mins and what I like is that they are more visual tests. The one I had the other day was four pictures of different thermostats and you had to choose which design you preferred and why and that was it. I earned two credits and then you go about your business and wait for the next beep. You have to reach 100 credits which is £10 before you can cash out but I like the simplicity despite it taking a while to work up to it. I hate long boring surveys which the other sites offer.
I recommend this site if you prefer quick and simple tasks. Here is the link:

Swagbucks

Swagbucks has a variety of ways to earn and I did manage to get enough points for a £10 Amazon gift card but it does take a lot of time to reach it. A good feature was the search bar that you use like Google and every time you do a legitimate search you earn points. There are also surveys and videos you can watch to earn points but much like the other two sites, unless you're prepared to sit there for endless hours a day, you really won't earn much. Here are the basics:

We reward our members with free gift cards and cash for the everyday things they already do online.
Shop online, watch entertaining videos, search the web, answer surveys, and find great deals to earn points.
Redeem your points for free gift cards to your favorite retailers like Amazon or Walmart, to name a few, or get cash back from PayPal.
Share your opinions and get free gift cards! Earn SB points when you answer fun surveys and polls.
Get free gift cards when you check out exclusive deals and offers from well known brands. You earn SB points when you sign up for new services, check out free samples, and more!
Earn SB points when you search the web using our Yahoo! powered search engine!
Get free cards for playing games! You can earn SB points when you make in-game purchases through our partners at GSN, or play our original free games and earn randomly.

So, there are the sites that I have joined, would I recommend them? I suppose it depends on your patience. I personally found it time consuming and will only visit them every now and then, though not 20 cogs!

Inbox pounds

I quite like inbox pounds and did manage to earn £20 which came in cheque form but it did take a while to build up to that amount and I had to install quite a lot of rubbish apps and toolbars to reach it. You do get paid by simply reading emails, though its only a few pence and again with the boring surveys which I found most of the time I didn't qualify for even after wasting my time doing them so that was frustrating but it is worth a look and despite some reviews stating that they never received their check, I did. Here are the basics:
Following is a list of the ways you can earn money with InboxPounds…
  1. Playing games – Earn some extra cash by simply playing online games. Their games include: Bingo, slots, and digital scratch cards.
  2. Complete offers – Complete special offers such as online shopping for the chance to discover new products and services. You can save money, and also earn additional cash back.
  3. Sign up- InboxPounds will pay you an initial £1 for signing up, and an additional £0.50 for activating your account/setting up a profile.
  4. Filling out surveys –Visit your survey dashboard will let you know when you have surveys  to complete. On average, expect to make £0.20 to £0.50
  5. Complete tasks – InboxPounds pays you to complete tasks such as labeling products, sorting online content, researching answers, and earning additional cash rewards for completing simple tasks.
  6. Reading e-mails – Earn cash for simply opening emails with special offers for famous brands.
  7. Referral Program – For every friend you refer, you will refer 10% of their earnings.
  8. Unlike most online rewards sites like this, InboxPounds offers many different ways to earn money. The only problem is that you need to earn £20 before you can cash out. If you only plan on taking surveys, for example, it will take a very long time. Even if you take advantage of everything they have to offer, it will still take a considerable amount of time.

Make money by completing online tasks

There are many of these sites out there and they truly can become tiresome. The aim is to complete various offers or surveys and earn either money or vouchers. There are three sites that I have joined listed below and included is my personal experience.

Earn £300+ sounds good right? Again, this is my personal experience as a member and it wasn't a good one. First of all here are the basics:
20 Cogs is a really simple way of earning some easy money from the comfort of your home, or on your mobile on the move.
· You will be presented with various offers, from surveys and competitions to free trials and site registrations.
. Every Cog has alternative offers to choose from, complete just one offer from each cog and you'll be able to profit from every single offer you successfully complete.
· When you complete a cog as instructed, the status will change to amber (pending). Please give us some time to update the status, sometimes this can take 24 hours.
· Once in pending, our advertisers will then check if you have completed the offer correctly. When the advertiser has confirmed you have fully completed the offer, it will change from amber (pending) to green (confirmed).
. When all 20 Cogs have turned green a claim button will appear and you will be able to request payment to your BACS or Paypal account and you will have the earnings in your account within a couple of days!
You can also earn extra money, simply refer your friends and earn 5% of everything they earn forever!
Most of the offers were things I had no interest in and had a one pound fee just for signing up to the trial. I chose one that didn't have a joining fee as the rest had stated and yet, I was still charged a pound in my bank! Not only that, the cog never turned green even after waiting out the supposedly free trial. Another offer I signed up to led me to a site called Play lottery.com and as part of the offer I had to play a pound and then got entered straight into a £11.99 weekly subscription which was due out of my bank account the next day! The only way to cancel was over the phone and it was out of hours!! Luckily I contacted them first thing in the morning and it was cancelled before any money could be taken and it didn't end there, my bank card had actually been blocked! I had to contact the bank who told me it was because of that site, they thought someone had used my details to join.
Let's just say I discontinued use of 20 cogs after that and really can't comment as to whether you actually earn anything but after my experience I wasn't willing to risk it! Feel free to comment otherwise at the end of the post, I'm always interested in hearing from real people who have succeeded or even had a similar experience to mine.

Value for money

Let's start with Amazon Prime which I think is great and am currently a member. We all love Amazon and it can be a little on the pricey side especially when you include delivery but with Prime, you can enjoy fast and free unlimited delivery, unlimited streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows. There is also the benefit of Amazon pantry at a lower price for everyday essentials. If you're a book lover you can enjoy unlimited reading on your kindle at no charge, (you could even download my books that are in the sidebar :)) and loads more. All this is for £5.99 a month or £79 a year and if that doesn't convince you, try the free trial for 30 days, if you don't like it, then cancel at no cost. Introduction

My name is Linda Jackson and welcome to my blog! We all would like to earn a little bit extra for whatever reason, myself included and I have scoured the internet for various ways of earning money online. In my search which by the way was incredibly frustrating, I wished that I looked for personal experiences from real people before dedicating myself to whatever website was advertising, but they were few and far between so I decided to compile my own experiences on here in a bid to help out those who are searching for the same as I was. I've also included sites that aren't money making but offer value for money and a few that are just my personal favourites.
